USING PROGRAMMABLE THERMOSTATS

In my opinion, one to quickest ways to reduce your monthly electric bill is by purchasing and actually using an electronic and programmable thermostat. In South Florida during the summer months the heat and humidity can be very intense. Everyone expects to see their monthly electric bill soar due to air conditioning costs during the summer time.

One feature that I love about the electric and programmable thermostat is the ability to run your air conditioning system on a 7 day schedule, based on your daily activity. You can set your air condition system to run at different times on different days based on your own schedule. For example, you have studio apartment that you live in by yourself and from Monday to Friday you are away at work from 9AM to 5PM. You can adjust your air conditioning system to turn off at 9AM when you leave, and restart at 4PM before you get home. Turning your system off for 8 hours a day will save you more money then keeping your thermostat at 76 degrees all day long.

In addition, changing your air condition filter and making sure that your air ducts are clean will ensure that your system will run efficiently, thus saving you money on a monthly basis!
